SPEED Project Training Event, Whitby, October 2021

On 19th October Eskdale students welcomed over 20 visitors from around the UK and Europe. We all met to discuss, edit and trial a range of training materials created by our guests for use in this exciting project to enable young people from all over Europe to set up their own Shared Wealth businesses.

A highlight of the whole week was a very soggy trip into Whitby to show our guests and SPEED project partners around our great little town. They got the real tourist experience, eating fish and chips in the rain!

During the week we had training on what a Shared Wealth business is, how to run a business and how to involve our local community. The students were absolutely brilliant during all these sessions and were very excited by the end of the week as we hit on some great business ideas that we can't wait to share with you very soon.

The week had a great finale with over 100 Eskdale Students getting having a chance to meet with our guests and talk with them about the work they are doing with our school and in the wider world. CEO of Solar Ear, Howard Weinstein who is based in Brazil, Events Promoter, Sam Cannon and our own Brian Allanson from Whitby Shared Wealth were just a few of the people invested in our young people; what an exciting opportunity!
